Borrelli, Zeman Selected to 2021-22 Preseason All-WCC Women's Golf Team

SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference officially announced the 2021-22 WCC Women's Golf Preseason Poll and Team on Thursday morning.

For USF, the Dons were picked to finish fourth as a team while Annika Borrelli and Hannah Zeman were named to the preseason team by the conference's five head coaches.

"I am so proud of the hard work and dedication that both Annika and Hannah have displayed in the past few years," said head coach Sara Doell.

"Annika had quite an impressive summer as she won the NCGA California Women's Am and the SCGA California Women's Am. She is playing great golf right now and I look forward to seeing what she can do in her last year as a Don. Hannah led us last year in the WCC Conference Championship with a fourth-place finish- her best to date. I am excited to see that she earned this honor and know that she has the potential and the passion to keep moving her game forward."

For Borelli, the Alamo, Calif. native is coming off another impressive season for the Dons after earning her second All-WCC Honorable Mention nod last spring. Overall, she served as a leader for USF in 2020-21, leading the team at the season-opening Gunrock Invitational hosted by UC Davis with an 11th-place finish. Additionally, she was the team's No. 2 scorer at three other tournaments – the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational (where she placed 20th overall), the BYU Spring Classic and the Fresno State Classic. At the WCC Championships, Borrelli finished in the top-ten (ninth) with teammate Joan Soewondo (eighth). In the classroom, she was also one of four Dons to earn WCC-All Academic First Team honors last year.

For Zeman, she will aim to build off a successful finish to the spring season after placing tied for fourth at the WCC Championships wsith a three-over 75. Notably, she was just three strokes off of the lead of individual champion Caroline Hwang (Pepperdine), who totaled 221 (71-74-76) for the tournament.

The preseason poll and All-WCC team were selected solely by a vote of the conference's five head coaches. Coaches could not vote for their own teams and student-athletes.
