COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho- Participating in their first tournament of the new year, the University of San Francisco women's golf team improved each day at the Coeur D'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational to finish seventh overall as a team. Individually,
Hannah Zeman finished amongst the top 20 golfers as she tied for 10
th place with a three-round total of 218 (+5).
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
- As a team, USF tied for tenth place after the first round on Day One with a total of 303 (+19). Following Day Two, the Dons had climbed two spots, up to eighth place after shooting a 295 in the second round to total 598 (+30). Growing with each opportunity, USF would finish in seventh place in the final standings after recording a 289 in the third round, making their total 887 (+35) for the tournament.
- Individually, Zeman finished as the highest-ranked Don tying for tenth place, followed by Annika Borrelli and Riana Mission. Notably, Borrelli tied for 25th by shooting 222 (+9) while Mission was close behind by tying for 29th with a total of 223 (+10).
- Rounding out the group, Jade Siphomsay tied for 35th by shooting a 224 (+11) while Toni St. John tallied a total of 239 (+26) to tie for 85th for USF.
CATCHING UP WITH COACH DOELL:
"I am very proud of the team in the way we started out the season. They certainly left many shots out there as we know we have more potential. We will work hard this week to be prepared for The Molly. Overall, it was a great performance by Hannah this week- she played wonderful, stayed steady and composed… A great way to start the season after such a strong finish last spring!"
UP NEXT:
Looking ahead, USF will turn their attention to The Molly on Monterey, Calif. on Monday Sept. 27 and Tuesday, Sept. 28. Hosted by Oregon State, this two-day tournament will take place at the Bayonet Golf Course in Monterey. Live scoring of the tournament will be available via the team's schedule page.
