Box Score SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. -- The San Francisco Dons women's volleyball program (0-9) started off conference play Thursday night falling to the No. 23 Pepperdine Waves 3-0 at War Memorial Gym.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Pepperdine got off to a fast start to begin the match, but USF mounted a strong response to get back in the set. Lana Kutakhina was all over the court securing four kills to begin the match as the Waves won the opening set 25-13.
- The second set was a back-and-forth affair with each team trading points. USF put up a valiant effort getting the score within two points of separation from the Waves at multiple points before falling short 25-20.Â
- The No. 23 Waves took control of the match in the third set as they clinched victory with a 25-13 final score to win in three sets.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Kellen Martins had a noteworthy day on the court as she totaled six kills, one assist and two digs for the Dons.
- Lana Kutakhina was also making plays on the offesnive side of the ball, as she posted six kills and digs to go along with an assist.
- Taylor Schein contributed four kills to the effort as well.Â
