SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – In honor and appreciation of the return of students, faculty, and staff to USF's Hilltop Campus, the USF Athletics department announced today that all home games this upcoming weekend, September 10-12, will be free to the general public.
"The energy around campus is incredible this fall, and our student body has shown up in force to our early home games," said Director of Athletics, Joan McDermott. "We feel that this weekend's full slate of home games with fans, our first since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic last March, provides a wonderful opportunity to extend our welcome to the community at large and remind them of the affordable family fun we provide at Dons home games."
The USF volleyball team will make their home debut this weekend with a pair of matches: a 7:00 pm first serve against Utah State on Friday, September 10 followed by an afternoon battle against Cal State Bakersfield at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 11. Gates will open one hour prior to the beginning of the match both days with each game being played at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.
The weekend of action concludes when the Dons women's soccer team plays host to Portland State on Sunday, September 12, with kickoff set for 1:00 pm. Gates will open at Negoesco Stadium will open at 12:00 pm.
In compliance with university mandates, all patrons, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to wear a face covering unless actively eating or drinking while at a USF sporting event. Due to the pandemic, all concessions operations are currently out of operation, so fans are invited to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages.
