STANFORD, Calif. -- Following a week away from competition, the USF Dons women's tennis program is back in action starting tomorrow and throughout the weekend as they prepare to participate in the 2022 ITA West Regionals at the Taube Family Tennis Center at the University of Stanford's campus.
The last time the Dons were in action was a tremendous weekend for the team as
Hana Gamracy was able to win her singles draw by knocking off four opponents throughout three days of play in Berkeley. Continuing her stellar play into doubles, Gamracy teamed up with
Azaria Hayes to reach the semifinal round by knocking off teams from both UC Davis and Saint Mary's.
Competing across the country,
Maria Martinez Vaquero and
Rita Colyer were in Cary, North Carolina representing the Dons at the ITA Women's All-American Championships competing against the top athletes from across the country. Martinez Vaquero competed in a pair of singles matches as she was able to defeat her opponent from Alabama before coming up short against a student-athlete from Illinois.
USF's team will be competing against the full field from among the best women's tennis players in the West as the fall tennis season continues. For those USF student-athletes that don't advance in the regionals, they will be in action on Sunday for the Taube Cup at Alpine Hills Tennis and Swim club on Sunday afternoon.
