BERKELEY, Calif. – Set for their first local race in program history, the University of San Francisco triathlon team will compete in the Bearathlon (hosted by Cal Berkeley) on Sunday, Oct. 30 at Berkeley Marina.

DONS AT A GLANCE:

• Ready for their third race this fall, USF will race in the Bay Area for the first time in program history when they suit up in Berkeley on Sunday morning. Overall, triathlon was added as a varsity sport at USF in the 2019-20 school year.
• Previously, the Dons placed third overall as a team at the Longmont Triathlon on Saturday, Sept. 24^th followed by a fourth place finish at the Mile High Relay on Sunday, Sept. 25. Individually, Kira Gupta Baltazar, last year's overall individual champion, returned to form in quick fashion by placing second overall at the Longmont Triathlon. Most recently, Gupta Baltazar finished third overall at the NCAA West Region National Qualifiers in Stockton, Missouri on Saturday, Oct. 15.
• The Berkeley course will feature a one-lap swim of 750 meters in the Berkley Marina, with the athletes starting from the windsurf launch dock and exiting off the main marina dock. The bike portion will feature four loops along the frontage road adjacent to Interstate-580, totaling 20 kilometers. The 5K run course will be two laps on the nearby San Francisco Bay Trail.
• Looking ahead, USF will wrap up their schedule by competing at the 2022 Collegiate National Championships in Tempe, Ariz. on Saturday, Nov. 12.
