SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco men's basketball program and head coach Chris Gerlufsen officially announced the commitment of Ryan Beasley of San Ramon, Calif. on Thursday afternoon.
"My staff and I are so excited to announce the signing of Ryan Beasley to the University of San Francisco," said Gerlufsen. "Ryan is an explosive guard with a high basketball IQ who we expect to have a tremendous career here at USF. He is a high character individual who will be a wonderful representative of the USF community. I am thrilled that Ryan, a native of San Ramon, has chosen to stay home in the Bay Area for his college basketball career. Today is a great day for the USF program!"
Known as one of the top amateur guards on the West Coast, Beasley is a 5'11, 170-pound guard who chose the Dons over the likes of Washington State, Montana, Northern Illinois and San Jose State.
This past season, Beasley was named the San Francisco Chronicle's co-Contra Cost/Tri-Valley Player of the Year after finishing fourth in the state of California in scoring with an average of 30.6 points per game at Dougherty Valley High School in San Ramon.
Impressively, the versatile guard led his team to the North Coast Section Division I finals before leading his West Coast Elite-Nor Cal team to the Under Armour Association championship game.
Known for his skills on both ends of the ball, Beasley is an elite free throw shooter who also possesses quick hands on the defensive side and a knack for getting to the rim.
Beasley is now in his senior year at Dougherty Valley as he is set to graduate in May 2023.
