SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Head coach
Sara Doell and the University of San Francisco women's golf program are proud to announce their only commit for the 2023 class: Rodaylin Mina of San Diego, Calif.
"We are so excited to welcome Rodaylin "RoRo" Mina as she joins our Dons family here on the Hilltop next fall," said Doell. "I had the chance to watch her compete and once I met her on campus, I knew that she was a perfect fit for what we look for in our student-athletes. She works hard, plays hard, loves the game, is strong in her faith and will be a supportive teammate. I believe she can come in next fall and make an impact right away as we continue moving this program forward. Welcome to the team, RoRo!"
Enjoying tremendous success in her amateur career, Mina comes to the Hilltop with a plethora of achievements.
As a four-time varsity letter winner on the women's golf team at Maranatha Christian School (MCS) in San Diego, Mina was a three-time team captain and three-time team MVP for the Eagles. Impressively, she was also a two-time All-CIF San Diego Section Team and All-CIF Coastal League selection as she qualified for the CIF Southern California regionals twice and the CIF State Championship once. In her freshman year (2019-20), Mina ranked in the top 25 of 300+ golfers in the CIF San Diego Section.
In the classroom, Mina was the president of the American Sign Language (ASL) Honors Society while also being named to the Principal's Honor Roll at MCS after achieving a 4.33 GPA.
Beginning to play golf at the age of ten in Canberra, Australia, Mina has also won junior golf tournaments in Australia and the United States. Most recently, she finished as a quarterfinalist at the 2022 California Junior Girls Championship of the California Women's Amateur Championships in Half Moon Bay, Calif. Notably, she also competed in the 2022 Notah Begay III Junior National Golf Championships in Kinder, La.
