USF Continues Success, Finishes Fourth at Juli Inkster

FAIRFAX, Calif. – Finishing in the top five for the third time this spring, the University of San Francisco women's golf team enjoyed success once again to begin the week as the Dons placed fourth overall at the 2022 Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational, which included finishing above six teams who are ranked higher than USF, three of which were in the top 50.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
  • Continuing her dominance to begin her career as a Don, Riana Mission finished third overall individually for the second straight tournament after shooting 8-under-208 across her three rounds. Notably, this performance marked the fourth time the freshman has placed inside the top ten this year as well as the fifth time she has finished inside of the top twelve.
  • Just behind Mission, Hannah Zeman notched her second top ten finish of the season after tying for eighth overall with a three-round score of 2-under-214. Overall, this performance marked the second time this year in which Zeman has placed in the top ten individually.
  • Piecing together another impressive outing, Annika Borrelli tied for twenty-second overall with a 5-over-221 as three of the five Dons placed inside of the top twenty-five individuals.
  • Rounding out the scoring, Jade Siphomsay tied for forty-second with a 12-over-228 while Toni St John tied for sixty-fifth with a 21-over-237.
  • Competing individually for USF, Toni Sottile also tied for forty-eighth overall with a 15-over-231 while Lisa Marie Rudometkin shot 37-over-253 to place seventy-third overall.
CATCHING UP WITH COACH DOELL:
"Our team keeps impressing as we had our third straight top five finish this semester. This field is arguably the strongest field we have seen all season and they threw up some of the best numbers we have shot all year. Riana had three-straight under par rounds and had her second straight third place finish.

Hannah shot 66 in the second round which was her lowest collegiate round to date, placing her in the top ten.

I am so proud of this team and how they have come together. They work hard and have created a team unity that really drives them forward all while achieving strong things individually.

We are taking a break to rest and recover mentally and physically before turning towards preparation for the Fresno State Classic after Spring break. More to come!"

UP NEXT:
USF will remain in California as the Dons are set to compete in the Fresno State Classic in Fresno, Calif. on Monday, Mar. 21 + Tuesday, Mar. 22.
