SANTA CLARA, Calif./SEATTLE, Wash. -- After taking a week off from matches due to a recent cancelation, the USF Dons women's tennis team (10-7, 3-3) are once again back in action as they will be hitting the road for a conference and non-conference matchup.
USF will be looking to bounce back from their narrow defeat at the hands of BYU in Provo as they were able to get doubles victories from the duos of
Maria Martinez Vaquero/
Rita Colyer and
Simran Chhabra/
Caragh Courtney. Picking up individual victories in singles,
Chiho Mushika and Courtney each were able to pick up wins to account for the additional two USF points in the 4-3 defeat.
The Dons will first head an hour south of the Hilltop to take on the Santa Clara Broncos for their final road conference match of the 2022 spring season as USF seeks to solidify their place in the conference standings heading into the conference tournament later this month. Both teams faced off against each other in April 2021 back on the Hilltop with the Dons securing the 6-1 victory that evened the overall series between both squads with nine wins a piece.
Following the contest in the South Bay, the Dons will then get on a plane and head to the Pacific Northwest as they will take on the Washington Huskies on Sunday afternoon in Seattle. This will be the first recorded meeting between both programs since before 2006 with the Dons facing their fifth Pac-12 opponent of the 2021-22 season.
