HENDERSON, Nev. – Playing their heart out until the final hole, the University of San Francisco women's golf team finished fourth overall at the 2022 West Coast Conference Championship at Reflection Bay Golf Club this weekend in Henderson.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
- Capping off one of the most impressive seasons by a freshman in recent memory, Riana Mission paced USF by finishing tied for sixth overall with a three-round total of 10-over-226. With this performance, the Las Vegas native officially finished in the top ten of all six tournaments this spring, which included four consecutive top five finishes to begin the spring schedule.
- Close behind Mission, sophomore Toni Sottile recorded her best finish as a Don as she placed ninth overall with a 13-over-229. Notably, it was also her first collegiate top ten finish.
- Wrapping up her career with another strong performance, Annika Borrelli tied for eleventh overall with a 16-over-232. This spring, the Alamo, Calif. native finished in the top 25 in five of her six tournaments.
- Alongside each other most of the tournament, Jade Siphomsay and Hannah Zeman tied for twenty-first as both shot 27-over-243.
CATCHING UP WITH COACH DOELL:
"It was not the ending to our season that we would have liked, but that does not take away from the fact that we had an incredible year as a team. We did some phenomenal things, which included winning our first tournament in over five years along with several players setting new personal bests throughout the year. We will definitely take a look at what areas we need to improve in and start focusing towards next year."
