SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference officially announced the 2021-22 Men's Tennis All-Conference Honors on Friday morning.
It was a momentous spring campaign for the Dons men's tennis program as they team cracked the ITSA rankings for the first time since the 2015-16 season, thanks in large part to a big senior class that helped create the culture. USF also participated in the WCC Championships for the first time since the 2016-17 season as they battled to the final point against Portland.Â
Leading the way for the Dons were the senior duo of
Phuc Huynh and
Nitzan Ricklis who both were honored as honorable mentions for doubles following their stellar spring season playing in the first position against each team's best doubles tandem.
Huynh also was selected as a member of the All-WCC singles team for the first time in his four year career with the Dons as the Hawaiian native left it all on the court this last year finishing with a 10-7 record in singles playing in the first, second and third spot.
Ricklis was selected to his second All-WCCÂ team after making second team last season for his singles play as he teamed up well with Huynh playing entirely in the first position and compling an 11-6 overall record. Ricklis a native of Sunnyvale has been a mainstay for the USF program in their rise to the national rankings and postseason play.Â
