EUGENE, Ore. -- Wrapping up their swing through the Pacific Northwest, the USF Dons women's soccer team (1-0-1) battled hard for 90 minutes creating many opportunities and giving the Oregon Ducks (1-0-1) all they could handle at Papé Field. The Dons got on the board first midway through the first half, while the Ducks answered after halftime in what ended up being a 1-1 tie on a warm afternoon in Oregon.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

The Dons were the more aggressive team from the opening kick as they totaled 11 shots to Oregon's two in the first 45 minutes of action from Papé Field.
USF's relentless attack was rewarded when Marissa Vasquez got the Dons on the board with a nifty corner kick that hooked perfectly in USF's advantage to lead 1-0 at the 24 minute mark.
The intensity in the game picked up later in the second half with each side working hard to create opportunities on offense while stingy defense helped weather each side's attack.
Oregon was able to score the equalizing goal at the 61 minute mark.
Each side continued the back and forth affair among the warm and humid conditions, with the score finishing in a tie for the second consecutive season.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

Vasquez's torrid start to the 2022 season continued as she scored her fourth goal already on the season through just two games played.
Sophomore forward Gabby Rizzo and freshman forward Lindsey Chau each were extremely active on the offensive side of the ball as they both totaled four shots on goal.
USF's entire offense was on the attack throughout Sunday's match as they intensified the pressure on the Ducks. The Dons outshot Oregon overall, 24-6, and in shots on goal opportunities, 10-2.

CATCHING UP WITH COACH MILLINDER:
"It was a hard fought game on the road again. I thought we were better but at the end of the day we need to put away our chances we create. I thought the girls worked very hard and we are gaining confidence with every match. It's great to go undefeated on the road trip."

UP NEXT:
The Dons now return back to the Hilltop for their home opener against the Stanford Cardinal (1-0) on Thursday Aug. 25 at 7:00 p.m. Last season, USF traveled south to Palo Alto as they came up just short, 1-0, against the Cardinal. Tickets for the match can be purchased here.
