Women's Soccer Set to Host LMU

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Returning home to the Hilltop for another conference matchup, the University of San Francisco women's soccer team (4-6-2, 1-1-0 WCC) is set to host Loyal Marymount (6-6-1, 0-1-1) on Saturday night at Negoesco Stadium for a evening showdown.

- In their last time on the pitch, San Francisco fell on the road at Gonzaga, 3-0, on Saturday, Oct. 7. Despite the loss, Lindsey Chau led the Dons with three total shots while Ellie Weissenberg tallied two shots herself, marking a new season-high. In goal, Kira Ybarra tied her second most saves in a match this season by recording seven saves against the Bulldogs.
- Overall, Ybarra comes into Saturday ranked second in the WCC in saves (52) and tied for second in shutouts (4).
- Although she did not suit up against Gonzaga, Marissa Vasquez remains a threat offensively as she is tied for third in the conference in shots on goal (19) while also being eighth in shots (31).
- Last time out, LMU fell in a tight match on the road in Portland, 1-0, as the Pilots bested the Lions on Saturday, Oct. 7.
- Overall, Jennessa Groves is dangerous with the ball in her feet as she is currently tied for fourth in the conference with 34 shots.
- In the cage, JJ Hoover is tied with Ybarra with four shutouts on the season while she is also fourth in the WCC in goals against average (.900)
- Dating back to 1993, San Francisco and LMU have met 30 times with the Lions leading in the head-to-head series 17-10-3. Despite the lead, the Dons have been victorious over LMU the last three seasons, including a 1-0 shutout win over the Lions in their last matchup on the Hilltop in Oct. 2021.
