Women's Tennis Competes at Taube Tennis Challenge Cup

PORTOLA VALLEY, Calif. – The University of San Francisco women's tennis team competed in the second-annual Taube Tennis Challenge Cup on Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Alpine Hills Swim and Tennis Club.

The exhibition featured four teams from the Bay Area in a team tennis formatted tournament as San Francisco and Menlo College faced off in one semifinal match, while Santa Clara took on UC Davis. The Dons earned a win over the Oaks, while the Aggies defeated the Broncos to move on to the finals. In the finals, the two programs were coached by 18-time Grand Slam doubles champions Bob and Mike Bryan, with their father Wayne serving as the emcee.

UC Davis ultimately defeated San Francisco, 20-16, to earn the Taube Tennis Challenge Cup title.
