LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The University of San Francisco volleyball team (10-16, 4-10) dropped its final road contest of the season, falling 3-0 to Loyola Marymount (18-6, 11-3) Saturday afternoon at Gersten Pavilion.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

The Dons kept pace with the Lions in the early stages of the first set, with Hayden Goodman and Maria Petkova recording kills to tie the set at three after the first six points.
After pulling within one later on, 8-7, San Francisco quickly fell behind as Loyola Marymount used a 7-0 run to take control of the set, 15-7, and ultimately won it, 25-13.
Trailing by six, 17-11, midway through the second set, the Dons battled back to cut the deficit to one after a 5-0 run. The defense was vital throughout the run as Lindsay Oldendorf accumulated a solo block and a block assist.
The green and gold pulled ahead late in the set and gained a two-point advantage, 23-21. The Lions, however, scored four-straight points to secure the two-set lead, 25-23.
Loyola Marymount dominated the early stages of the deciding frame, extending its lead to 10, 17-7. The Dons continued to battle back, cutting the deficit to four, 24-20, after winning four-straight points, but the Lions secured the match, 25-20, shortly after.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

Petkova and Astrid Puig led the Dons offensively, accumulating seven kills, while Puig only recorded three attack errors.
Defensively, Abby Wadas recorded 10 digs while Oldendorf led the front line, tallying five blocks.
