SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Head coach
Chris Gerlufsen and the University of San Francisco men's basketball program announced today that
Frankie Ferrari has been hired as Assistant Coach/Director of Player Development.

Frankie Ferrari into our coaching family here at USF," said Gerlufsen. "Frankie was an outstanding player during his time on the Hilltop and he will have an immediate impact on our players and staff. He possesses a great mind for the game and knack for building strong relationships that will make him an asset to our entire program."

Returning to the Hilltop after a successful playing career for the green and gold, Ferrari will begin his career in coaching at San Francisco in his new role as Assistant Coach/Director of Player Development.

Suiting up for the Dons from 2014-2019, Ferrari appeared in 94 games total throughout his career on the Hilltop, which included starting in 61 games. Averaging 14.7 points and 5.5 assists during his senior year, Ferrari was a two-time All-West Coast Conference First Team selection in both 2017-18 and 2018-19.

Overall, Ferrari still ranks among USF greats as he is fourth all-time in free throw percentage (.821), fifth in assists (396), seventh in three-pointers made (171) and three-point percentage (.399), eighth in three-pointers attempt (447), and 38
th in scoring (1,027). Notably, he also is tied with Jordan Ratinho and Nate Renfro for the single-season record for games played (39 in 2017-18).

Following his career at USF, Ferrari played professionally in the NBA G League for the Santa Cruz Warriors as well as in the NBA Summer League for the Sacramento Kings, Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz. Additionally, he also competed overseas in Spain and Poland for a handful of organizations. Most recently, the Burlingame native played for WKS Ślask Wrocław, a professional basketball league in Poland, in October 2023 before deciding to professionally retire.
