SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The University of San Francisco Dons women's tennis team (4-3) are set to play their first WCC match of the season as they will welcome the BYU Cougars (3-3) to the Goldman Tennis Center on Friday, March 3 at 11:00 a.m.
The Dons are coming off of a home victory last week against UC Davis on Feb. 25.
Azaria Hayes and
Maria Martinez Vaquero both gained an individual win in the singles category in addition to their doubles win as a pair against the Aggies. Overall, the Dons finished with two wins in doubles and three wins in singles group for a final score of 4-3. The women's tennis team is looking to make it consecutive teams wins against BYU as they defeated them last season at the WCC Championships to reach the semifinals down in Southern California.
This is the 13th time BYU and USF have faced off in their program's history. The Cougars lead the overall series with nine wins and four losses. In their last regular season matchup on April 28, 2022, the Dons won with a final score of 4-3 while playing in Provo.
