SAN JOSE / SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Coming off a pair of big wins last week, the USF Dons women's tennis team (6-5) are set to play two matches this week in the Bay Area. Starting on the road this Wednesday, March 23 against the San José State Spartans (5-5) at noon at the Spartan Tennis Complex. Following that matchup the Dons will head back home to face a pair of WCC opponents this weekend including, the Pacific Tigers (5-3) on Friday, March 24 at noon. and will wrap up the weekend against the Saint Mary's Gaels on Saturday, March 12 at 2:00 p.m.

After the team's 6-1 win against UCSD on March 16Â and besting Dartmouth 5-2 on March 19, the Dons have multiple players sporting strong singles records on the season.
Azaria Hayes holds a 5-1 winning record in her singles matches so far this year. Following her,
Maria Martinez Vaquero has worked hard to earn her 7-3 record as well. In doubles, evening their record to 3-3 on the season,
Simran Chhabra and
Maria Martinez Vaquero won both their matches against the Tritons and Big Green for a solid performance last week.  Â

Making up their postponed match against the Spartans, this will mark the 15th time these two programs have competed. Leading the overall series, San José State has the upper hand with a record of 8-6 against the Dons. In their most recent game, the Dons were victorious with a final score of 4-2 while playing at home on March 4, 2022. Against the Tigers, the Dons lead in overall matches 9-6. Last season against the Tigers, the Dons took the win with a 6-1 final score on March 25, 2022 and are looking for that same success this season. Saint Mary's was able to best the Dons last season by a 5-2 score in Moraga as USF seeks to end their weekend on a high note against their East Bay rival.
