PALO ALTO/SAN FRANCISCO/FRESNO, Calif. —The Dons wrapped up a busy weekend as they finished competition across three track meets in the Bay area at the Stanford Invitational, Mike Fanelli Invitational and West Coast Relays. At the Stanford Invitational
Ed Buck and
Ruby Smee produced big personal best marks in their events, whileÂ
Baneet Bains impressed in her first Steeplechase of the season, just one second outside of her personal best—all of which will most likely be West Regional qualifying marks.
Caleb Haugland excelled at the Mike Fanelli Invitational smashing the elusive 15-minute barrier, crossing the line in 14:29. 84 and winning his heat.
Sophia Priester-Veasley also took home the win in her heat of the 100 Meter Dash, in a personal best time. At the West Coast Relays on Friday,
Olivia Alexandre produced an impressive win in the 400-meter hurdles. WhileÂ
Lorie Cashdollar showed promising form for the rest of the season in the 800 meter event finishing in third place.

CATCHING UP WITH COACH RILEY:
"A busy and fruitful weekend of racing split between the Bay and Central Valley. This is first weekend that we typically see training start to translate into racing and we had a number of examples of that. On the men's side Caleb, Hiruy, Ben and Ed really had solid 5k races with PB's across the board. Carter alsohad a good weekend with a 1500/800m double. On the women's side, Olivia had a great 400m hurdle debut winning her heat in Fresno. Saffy ran a big PB in the 100m and Imani had a very promising 400m hurdle debut for the Dons. In the distances, Maite had a big 5k PB and Kaylee had a big PB in the 1500m. At Stanford, Abby in the 1500m and Baneet in the Steeple had gutsy races and are ahead of where they were this time last year. Ruby absolutely crushed it in her second 10k on the track, lowering her PB by 90sec and is currently 6th in the NCAA. The next thing is to keep this momentum going and hopefullyadd a couple of key athletes to compete in the coming weeks."
