MALIBU/LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Coming off of a big home win last week for senior day, the University of San Francisco Dons women's tennis team (12-7, 4-3) is back on the road to close out their regular season. The Dons will first head to Malibu to face the Pepperdine Waves (15-3, 6-0) on Friday, April 21 at 1:00 p.m., and following that will compete against the LMU Lions (11-6, 5-2) on Saturday, April 22 at 1:00 p.m.
Headed into the weekend, the Dons are set to face tough opponents as Pepperdine sits in first while LMU is ranked third in the conference standings. Not far behind, the Dons have settled into the fourth place spot as their win against Santa Clara boosted their conference record to 4-3.
The Dons have had some strong performers this season as
Chiho Mushika leads the team in singles with her winning record of 13-5 on the year. Following close behind,
Arianna Capogrosso has collected ten wins and only 6 losses in singles. In doubles,
Maria Martinez Vaquero and
Simran Chhabra have proven to be a solid pair as they hold a 8-4 record on the season and are ranked 83rd in the nation.
