SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The University of San Francisco women's basketball program and head coach Molly Goodenbour officially announced the commitment of 6'1" guard Freja Werth from Aldrid, Sweden on Wednesday afternoon.
Werth joins the Dons programs after competing for Albany in the America East Conference, where she appeared in 65 games and averaged 4.9 PPG coming off the bench and starting a few games in the Great Danes' back court.
"We love that Freja has committed to join us here at USF," Goodenbour said. "Freja is an intelligent, tough and versatile player who comes from a winning collegiate culture and has build sound fundamentals and skills with her time at highly respected Lulea Basket in Sweden. Her ability to play multiple positions and her strong work ethic will make her a valuable asset on the Hilltop."
Doing a lot of things well on the court, Werth averaged 3.5 rebounds per game showcasing her willingness to rebound while also coming away with 19 steals and shooting 43% from the field during her sophomore season. The Swedish native won a pair of championships in her home country emerging victorious in 2019 and 2021 while also being named the Shooting Star of the year after winning her second title.
