CLOVIS, Calif. — The University of San Francisco Dons outdoor track and field team had a strong showing at the 2023 Fresno State Invite this weekend, with solid performances in the 100 meters lead by
Rayne Anwar.
Olivia Alexandre had another sub 60 second performance in the 400 meter hurdles and gained valuable experience racing against a quality field. USF's sprinters closed out their meet in the 4x400 meter relay posting a season best time of 3:50.37.
The 800 meters saw
Julia Morales and
Lorie Cashdollar also post season best times, where they both executed very impressive races in the heat. In the 1,500 meters
Ruby Smee and
Abby Pradere worked well together in the invitational race to finish in the top three. While in the open heat,
Kamilla Vanadzina used a fast closing lap to dip under 4:30 for a season best time, and
Hannah Anderson dropped down in distance to produce a massive personal best and heat win.
On the men's side,
Carter Lewis continues to impress in the 800 meters, negative splitting his last lap, a tough feat in the two lap event to earn himself a personal best time. In the 1,500 meters
Caleb Haugland also used a fast finishing lap to pull away from the field, winning his heat and landing comfortably under the four-minute barrier.
Ben Preddy led the way for the five Dons in the 5,000 meters which saw some solid performances across the board in the hot conditions.
