CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - The 2022-23 WGCA All-American Scholar Team was recently announced on Thursday, July 6 with a total of 1,401 women's collegiate golfers from 378 programs were recognized with this prestigious honor.
For San Francisco,
Riana Mission,
Jade Siphomsay,
Toni Sottile and
Hannah Zeman all earned honors for the second straight year while freshman
Eva Pett joined this group on the list following her debut season on the Hilltop.
"I am so proud of all five members of our team who made the WGCA All-Scholar Team for the 2022-2023 school year," said head coach
Sara Doell. "To have over half of our team earn this honor due to their hard work in the classroom, in the training room, in the gym and on the golf course is impressive. They work diligently to stay up with their school work while competing at a high level and they all do so with grace and class. Congratulations Jade, Toni, Hannah, Riana and Eva!"
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of student-athletes.
To be selected, a student-athlete must:
- Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
- Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
- Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
