SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Highlighted by matches against seven NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago, head coach Chris Brown and the University of San Francisco men's soccer program officially announced their schedule for the upcoming 2024 season on Saturday.
 
"With a talented and committed nucleus of players returning joined by a strong incoming class, we are excited for the challenge of a new season and eager to attack this strong schedule," said Brown. "Our slate is highlighted by the Jesuit Invitational (Creighton + Omaha) in addition to tough games both at home and on the road. We are thrilled to compete and show our quality against top teams as we embark on our goal for a WCC Championship."
 
Brown enters his fourth season at the helm of the green and gold after finishing 8-4-5 (2-3-2 WCC) in 2023. Overall, San Francisco will return 21 letterwinners from last year's team in addition to bringing in ten newcomers.
 
The 2024 schedule features 19 matches - two exhibitions, nine home matches and ten road matches. Beginning against local competition, the Dons will start their new campaign with an exhibition at Stanford on Aug. 9 before returning home to the Hilltop to take on Cal in an exhibition at Negoesco Stadium on Aug. 16.
 
Following the matchup with the Golden Bears, San Francisco will host Cal Poly in their first regular season match on Aug. 22 before welcoming UMKC to the city on Aug. 24.
 
After the season-opening homestand, USF will hit the road for four plus weeks as the green and gold will travel for matches at Omaha (Aug. 29), Creighton (Sept. 1), Seattle U (Sept. 6), Sacramento State (Sept. 12) and UC Davis (Sept. 15). Rounding out the month of September, San Francisco will return home to host San Jose State on Sept. 23 before beginning West Coast Conference play against Pacific on Sept. 29.
 
Moving into October, USF heads north to Gonzaga on Oct. 9 to battle the Zags followed by home matches against Portland (Oct. 13) and Stanford (Oct. 17). Towards the end of the month, the Dons will travel south to Los Angeles for a match at LMU on Oct. 26 prior to returning home to host San Diego on Oct. 30.
 
Adding a new opponent to the field this year, San Francisco will lace up for their first contest against new conference foe Oregon State when they head to Corvallis for a road matchup with the Beavers on Nov. 3. Looking at that same week, the Dons close out their regular season road slate with a match at Saint Mary's on Nov. 9.
 
Finally, the green and gold will wrap up the regular season by hosting Bay Area rival Santa Clara on Nov. 16.
