SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference has officially released the Credit Union 1 WCC Championship Bracket following the conclusion of the 2024-25 regular season. Saint Mary's and Gonzaga earned the top two seeds in the Championship as the Conference announced the full men's bracket on Sunday.
The Championship will be held from March 6-11 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. San Francisco has received a triple-bye into the quarterfinals and will first suit up on Sunday, Mar. 9 at 8:00 pm. The contest will air live on ESPN2 with Dave Flemming and Sean Farnham on the call from Orleans Arena.
San Francisco achieved history on the hardwood yet again this season as the Dons finished 23-8 overall and 13-5 in West Coast Conference action, which marks the most conference wins by the program since the 2013-14 season. USF also finished 16-0 at home on the Hilltop for the first time since 1980-81. Notably, San Francisco surpassed 20 wins for the eighth time in the last nine seasons. This seeding also marks the second straight year in which San Francisco has secured the No. 3 seed in the WCC Tournament and the fourth straight year in which USF has entered the conference tournament as a top five seed.
Malik Thomas was dominant on both sides of the ball all year as the senior finished the regular season as the WCC's leading scorer with an average of 19.1 points per game while also leading the conference in steals with an average of 1.7 per game. Alongside Thomas,
Marcus Williams impressed all season long as the point guard finished sixth in the conference in scoring (15.1 points per game) while also ranking in the top five in three-point percentage (fourth, 48.3) and three-pointers per game (fourth, 2.2).
As a team, San Francisco led the conference and ranked third in Division I in three-point defense this season, holding opponents to an average of 28.2 percent shooting from beyond-the-arc. Additionally, USF finished second in the league in scoring defense (68.2), free throw attempts per game (20.3), three-point attempts per game (25.2) and turnovers forced per game (12.9).
Saint Mary's (27-4, 17-1) will enter the championship event as the No. 1 seed for the third straight year after having won the West Coast Conference regular season title outright. Gonzaga (23-8, 14-4) will be the No. 2 seed after defeating San Francisco on the final day of the regular season.
The first three rounds of the men's tournament and the first five rounds of the women's tournament will be broadcast on ESPN+. ESPN2 and ESPN will televise the quarterfinals and semifinals of the men's tournament, and the championship games of both the men's and women's tournaments.
