San Francisco Signs Guard Aidan Braccia

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Head coach Chris Gerlufsen and the University of San Francisco men's basketball program announced today the signing of guard Aidan Braccia (Hillsborough, Calif./Belmont).

"Our Dons basketball family is thrilled to welcome Aidan Braccia to our program," said Gerlufsen. "Aidan, who is a Bay Area native, is a tough, highly-skilled guard who excels at shooting the basketball. We were fans of Aidan during his high school days with Sacred Heart Prep and West Coast Elite. Our staff is excited about Aidan's future on the Hilltop!"

Originally from Hillsborough, Braccia comes to San Francisco after spending three years at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee under head coach Casey Alexander.

Across his three seasons with the Bruins, Braccia appeared in 10 total games, which included making his collegiate debut at Furman on Nov. 11, 2022. Braccia scored his first collegiate point on Dec. 6, 2022 vs. Trevecca Nazarene.

Prior to his time in Nashville, Braccia was a four-year letterwinner under head coach Tony Martinelli at Sacred Heart Prep in Atherton, Calif. While at Sacred Heart, Braccia was a two-time Conference Player of the Year, two-time team captain (junior and senior year) as he finished with a 78-30 overall record with the Gators, making him the all-time winningest player in program history. He is also Sacred Heart's all-time leader in points (1,461), assists (306), steals (193) and three-point field goals made (222). Locally, he was named the San Mateo Daily Journal Player of the Year while earning spots on the San Francisco Chronice All-Bay Area Team and the San Jose Mercury News Fab 25 Team. Within California, Braccia was named to the 2022 Third Team California All-State Division I in addition to the 2021 First Team California All-State Division IV.

Off the court, Braccia is cousins with current assistant coach and former All-WCC guard Frankie Ferrari as well as current director of men's basketball operations Ralphie Ferrari.
