SAN JOSE, Calif. - The University of San Francisco (USF) men's soccer team (4-1) picked up its third straight win on Thursday night as the Dons fired on all cylinders to shutout San José State (3-1), 3-0, on the road at Spartan Soccer Complex.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- San Francisco got the scoring started early and took a 1-0 lead when Brayden Beason broke through the San José State defense before rocketing home his third goal of the season.
- The Dons increased their lead to 2-0 on a goal from Rylan Smith - his first goal of the season -Â in the 11th minute, when Ben Norris delivered a beautiful set piece for the junior.
- San Francisco went ahead 3-0 on Beason's second goal in the 67th, his fourth of the season. Zane Alafranji and Mason Dougherty assisted the goal.
- USF would hold off the final attacks from the Spartans as San Francisco went on to pick up its third shutout of the season and second in as many matches with the 3-0 victory.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Beason picked up his first career brace on Thursday night with a pair of goals against San José State.
- Lucas Jones totaled four saves for the Dons out of eight total Spartans shots.
- Jameson Raby made his collegiate debut for San Francisco, playing eight minutes down the stretch for USF.
