DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • San Francisco's three-game winning streak was snapped in a 74-66 overtime decision last Thursday to Gonzaga at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center. The Dons erased multiple double-digit deficits throughout the second half before the Bulldogs prevailed in the final five-minute period to secure the victory.
  • In a well-balanced offensive effort, San Francisco had five players score in double figures for the first time this season, led by Candy Edokpaigbe with 13 points. Aina Cargol and Ugwah each totaled 11 points, while Mara Neira and McIntyre posted 10 points apiece.
  • Recording a near double-double, Ugwah totaled season-highs in points (11) and rebounds (8) in just her third game following missing 13 games due to an injury. In her last three games, Ugwah is averaging 5.3 rebounds per game while totaling eight in her last two appearances.
  • Edokpaigbe leads the team in scoring, averaging 16.9 points per game, third best in the West Coast Conference. She has scored in double figures in 18 games while surpassing 20+ points seven times.
  • Cargol has continued to improve in WCC play, establishing herself as one of the top freshmen in the league. In 10 conference games, she is averaging 14.6 points per game and is connecting on 39.6 percent of her attempts from the three-point line. Cargol leads all true freshmen in the WCC in scoring and assists per game (5.2) during the conference slate.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS:
  • Following its 18-point victory over San Diego last Thursday, Oregon State sits at the top of the West Coast Conference standings with an 8-1 record. The program also holds the best overall record in the WCC at 16-6. The Beavers are coming off a 61-43 win, moving a half game ahead of Santa Clara for first place in the league.
  • In Oregon State's 92-87 overtime victory over Gonzaga on January 22, Kennedie Shuler posted an impressive 17-point, 10-steal, nine-assist, five-rebound,
  • three-block performance. Her stat line against the Bulldogs was one of four 10-steal, three-block outings in the nation since the 1999-00 season and one of four double-doubles with points and steals in the WCC in the last two decades.
  • Following her performance, Shuler was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week and USBWA Player of the Week.
  • Oregon State is third in the WCC and ranks tied for 34th in the nation in blocks per game at 4.7. As a team, the Beavers have four players with double-digit blocks, led by Shuler and Néné Sow at 23. Lara Alonso-Basurto (19) and Lizzy Williamson (16) have also emerged as the team's best shot blockers.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • San Francisco and Oregon State are set to meet for the 15th time in program history, with the Beavers holding a 10-4 advantage.
  • Facing off as West Coast Conference opponents for the first time ever in the 2024-25 season, the Beavers defeated the Dons twice in three games, including a narrow 61-59 victory in the quarterfinal round of the WCC Championship on March 9, 2025. In three games, the margin of victory for the Beavers was only 11 points.
  • The last time the two programs competed was on December 28, 2025, with Oregon State emerging with a 74-65 victory on the Hilltop. Four players scored in double figures for the green and gold, led by Cargol's team-high 15 points.
