NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – The University of San Francisco volleyball team (4-5) dropped a four-set decision to CSUN (3-4) in the second match of The Ridge Invitational Saturday evening at Premier America Credit Union Arena.

IN CASE YOU MISSED:

Recovering from a two-set deficit for the second consecutive day, San Francisco battled to a 25-23 victory in the third set. In a back-and-forth affair at the start of the frame, the Dons pulled ahead with four straight points to take an 18-14 advantage.
Despite CSUN leveling the score at 23 later in the frame, the green and gold used a kill from Katariina Korhonen and forced a Matador attack error to take the set 25-23.
In a tightly contested fourth set, San Francisco, trailing 20-17, erased a three-point deficit to get within one, 20-19, highlighted by a kill from Korhonen. The rally fell short as CSUN recorded the final four points of the set to secure the frame 25-20 for the match win.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

Reaching double-digit kills for the seventh time this season, Petra Fritz posted a team-high 16 while swinging at an efficient .268 clip.
Korhonen posted her first-career double-double, finishing the match with 13 kills and 12 digs.
Laura Amaro led the Dons' defensive backline, leading the team with 13 digs.
As a team, San Francisco totaled a season-best 11 blocks, with Hokulani Perez recording seven block assists. Maeve Bailey, Anica Bobic, and Korhonen paced the team with one solo block apiece.
