San Francisco Battles Saint Mary’s to a Draw

MORAGA, Calif. -- The San Francisco men's soccer team opened West Coast Conference play with a 1-1 draw against Saint Mary's Saturday afternoon at Saint Mary's Stadium.
With the draw, San Francisco moves to 4-4-2 overall and 0-0-1 in WCC play.

San Francisco struck first in the ninth minute when Jaggar Judkins found the back of the net for his second goal of the season off an assist from Brayden Beason.

The Dons continued to create chances in the opening half, with David Raphael forcing a save in the 33rd minute before Beason followed with another opportunity moments later.

Saint Mary's evened the match in the 39th minute as Henry Beatty scored off an assist from Eemil Laamanen.

Neither side found the go-ahead goal after halftime as the Dons limited the Gaels to just two shots in the second half.

San Francisco generated three second-half shots while also earning a corner kick in the 62nd minute, but the match remained level through the final whistle.
