San Francisco Dons Fund – FAQ’s

Why should I give?

University of San Francisco student-athletes need your support. One of the many sources of pride for USF fans is the high level of success enjoyed by each program. That level of success would not be possible without the support offered to more than 225 student- athletes at USF. Annual giving is what keeps USF Athletics moving forward.

Athletics joins academics at University of San Francisco to enhance the image of our University. Both go hand-in-hand to promote excellence. The athletic program needs your support as it strives to build the type of program which is first class in every respect. This is where you can have a very positive impact. In order to attract quality student-athletes, and to provide facilities necessary for them to successfully compete in the West Coast Conference, your financial support is needed through gifts to the Dons Fund. The money raised by the Dons Fund will help provide program support to all 15 D-I sports programs. Program support includes, but is not limited to, providing funds for recruiting, scheduling, travel, equipment, and training.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Direct gifts to USF Athletics are tax deductible and our tax id is #94-1156628. Tax deductibility may vary, however, for contributions made in conjunction with a golf tournament, raffle, auction or other USF Athletics event. Please contact event coordinators for details regarding tax deductibility.

What is the San Francisco Dons Fund (SFDF)?

The San Francisco Dons Fund is the overarching giving society that unifies all donors who give annually to USF Athletics. The SFDF has a stratified giving plan that will recognize your loyalty and generosity to USF Athletics. This annual giving model will deliver donor benefits in a timely and consistent manner, offer unique opportunities to enjoy exclusive events, and ensure that you continue to receive communication from your favorite sports. All annual solicitations and associated benefits will now channel through the SFDF, decreasing the number of solicitations you will receive each year and unifying our annual giving effort.
