Lashannda Worthy begins her first season with the University of San Francisco cross country and track programs as the Director of Operations in the 2018-19 school year.
As USF's Director of Operations, she is in charge of organizing all administrative and logistical aspects of the Dons' successful cross country and track programs. She is also serving on the University's Title IX committee.
Worthy brings a wealth of experience both as a student-athlete and as a leader in administration and athletics. Most recently, Worthy worked at the University of Michigan as a Director of Operations Intern for the Wolverines' track and field team during the 2018 season. There, she assisted with and coordinated all track and field team travel logistics and meet management. She also assisted the sports administration team with budget development, early/senior student-athlete exit interviews and sexual misconduct training. Her experience at Michigan was part of her tenure as a Big Ten Conference Diversity Intern from 2015-18.
Worthy also worked for the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2014-15, creating and establishing the first-ever Women in Leadership Development group for female student-athletes. Her organization received an NCAA Diversity Spotlight Award. During that same period she attended both the NCAA/Women Leaders In College Sports Leadership Symposium in Baltimore, and the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar in Indianapolis.
Worthy competed at Louisiana Tech in 2009-10. She was an NCAA East Regional Qualifier in both the 200- and 400-meter dashes in 2010. And she was an NCAA finalist with the Lady Techsters' 4x400Â relay team in 2009.
Worthy was born and raised in the Bay Area, earning her bachelor's degree in Sociology from Louisiana Tech in 2010, and her master's degree in Sports Management from Concordia University-St. Paul in 2016.
