A Bay Area native, Childs was born and raised in Alameda, Calif., she was a three-time letter winner at UC Berkeley and won more individual titles than any other player in Cal women's golf history. In her collegiate career, she notched four individual wins, 12 top-10 finishes and earned back-to-back All Pack-12 honors.

Following her impressive collegiate career, Childs went on to play professionally on the Symetra Tour, going into 2018 she was ranked 18th on the tour and boasts six top-10 finishes. She played in the 2013 and 2017 US Women's Open and won the 2013 Canadian Women's Tour even in Windsor. Â

"I am so excited to work with the USF women's golf team this spring," said Childs. "They are a great group of girls with a lot of promise for the future. Playing in college and on the pro tour, I've spent much time perfecting my own game and can't wait to share my knowledge with the team. It will be a great season!"
