Biography

2015 Sand: Began the season alongside partner Inbar Vinarsky, going 5-4 in dual match play from the No. 5 position in the lineup … pair reeled off four wins in a row against San Jose State, Cal, Stan Jose State and Saint Mary’s … closed the year playing with Jessica Keenan, earning wins in April over opponents from Boise State, Sacramento State and Loyola Marymount.

2014 Indoor: Closed her career on the Hilltop with a senior season highlighted by 242 kills, 227 digs, 34 total blocks and 21 service aces … recorded 13 double-digit kill efforts and seven double-doubles on the year … finished with a season-high tying 17 kills in USF’s 3-1 victory over Georgia on Aug. 30 … named to the USF Invitational All-Tournament Team after helping the Dons to a 3-0 mark in the season’s opening weekend … added 17 kills and 17 digs against Utah State on Sept. 12 … notched three service aces on four attempts at BYU on Oct. 2 … leaves the USF program tallying 602 career kills along with 102 total blocks and 58 service aces.

2014 Sand: Compiled a 5-4 record from the No. 4 position playing with Rebecca Kopilovitch ... the duo picked up victories over pairs from then-No. 6 UCLA, Saint Mary's, Sacramento State, Cal Poly and Stanta Clara.

2013 Indoor: Compiled 225 kills, 140 digs, 28 blocks, 26 assists and 19 aces for the season … had a double-double against Portland with 16 kills and 15 digs on Oct. 31 … had a season-high 21 kills against Southern Methodist on Sept. 13 … averaged 2.39 points per set and 1.88 digs per set.

2013 Sand: Posted a 1-7 record from the No. 3 position with partner Leanna Ludes ... finished the season with five double-doubles, including a 20-dig, 11-kill effort against Sacramento State on April 21 ... finished with a season-high .500 hitting percentage against Sacramento State on March 22, posting 16 kills and 16 digs.

2012 Indoor: Finished 3rd on the team with 208 digs…tallied a season best 18 digs and nine kills versus La Salle on Sept. 8 … put up 14 digs three times, at Loyola Marymount on Sept. 22, versus Brigham Young on Sept. 27 and versus Loyola Marymount on Nov. 17 … had a season best 11 kills versus Eastern Washington on Aug. 24.

2011 Indoor: Registered back-to-back double-doubles with 11-kill, 15-dig match against Brigham Young on Oct. 27 and 10-kill, 11-dig effort against No. 17 San Diego on Oct. 29 … ranked fifth on the team with 1.97 points per set average … placed seventh on the team with 90 points … seven service aces were good for sixth on the squad … recorded 60 digs and 1.30 digs per set average … had career-best 13-point match against Brigham Young on Nov. 7 with 11 kills and 15 digs … registered 10-or-more kills and 10-or-more digs in three matches.

Prep/Club Career: Played for the Croatian Junior National Team, which won the European Global Challenge tournament in 2009, and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player… won a championship with the OK Pula juniors club team in 2008-09 and finished second in 2009-10 and 2010-11.

Personal: Anja Segota… parents are Tanja and Dragan Segota… born in February of 1992… career goals at USF are to be a good student, to play to the best of her ability and to help the team win as many matches as possible… chose USF because it was a school she could picture herself attending and would enjoy her time in San Francisco… favorite sayings are, “Life is beautiful and Per Aspera Ad Astra,” which is a Latin saying that means ‘through hardships to the stars’… interests include spending time with friends, watching movies and going on long walks… has an older sister named Tina… also played tennis and basketball in high school… major is undecided.
