Benji Saetang joined the University of San Francisco women’s volleyball staff in March 2019, and begins his first full year with the Dons as a Volunteer Assistant during the 2019-20 season.
Saetang brings 10 years of strong Bay Area volleyball ties to the Dons’ program. Most recently, he has acted as the Director of Girls Volleyball at Palo Alto High School. There, he has had full control and oversight of the program, teaching skills and fitness training, managing budgets and collaborating with officials and parents for tournaments and travel.
Coinciding with his duties at Palo Alto High is his position as Assistant Director and Head Coach of the Academy of Volleyball in Palo Alto. There, he manages the club’s 17U team, educating players on proper skill development, fitness training, and college recruiting processes, while also handling administrative duties for the team and the club as a whole.
Saetang was previously an assistant coach with the women’s volleyball team at Menlo College, an NAIA program on The Peninsula in Atherton, Calif., from 2013-16. There, he coached the student-athletes on performance training, assisted with scheduling, recruiting, travel coordination, budgets and marketing. He edited videos and charts for team preparation and also mentored the student-athletes on organizational and life skills development.
Saetang graduated from San Jose State University in 2012 with a bachelor of science in kinesiology.
