2014 Sand: Played from the No. 2 position for the Dons, compiling a mark of 3-7 with partner Jurja Vlasic ... the tandem beat teams from then-No. 6 UCLA, Cal Poly and San Jose State - all straight-set victories.
2013 Indoor: Awarded All-WCC Honorable Mention for the second-straight season … was named to the All-Tournament team at the Blue Raider Bash … .317 hitting percentage good for second for the Dons and seventh in the WCC … season-high of 19 kills against Long Beach State on Sept. 6… compiled 260 kills, 14 aces, 53 digs, and a total of 44 blocks for the season… averaged 3.66 points per set ... leaves the Hilltop with 914 total kills, the 11th-best tally in school history, and compiled 186 total blocks and 224 digs for USF.
2013 Sand: Earned a 4-4 record alongside partner Courtney Sabahi from the No. 4 position ... notched five double-doubles over the course of the season ... led the team with 34 service aces, and a 7-ace outing in a 2-0 win over Stanford on April 21 ... finished with season highs of 19 digs and 18 kills against Saint Mary's on April 23.
2012 Indoor: Finished second on the team and 15th in the WCC in blocks with 68, averaging 0.76 per set … her .295 hitting percentage ranked 13th in the West Coast Conference … best kills-aces-digs-blocks stat lines came at San Diego on Sept. 20, versus San Diego Oct. 18, and versus La Salle on Sept. 8, where she finished with 15-0-8-6, 13-1-5-4 and 13-0-2-4 respectively … tallied a season best six blocks twice, at San Diego on Sept. 20, and at Gonzaga on Oct. 4.
2011 Indoor: Placed third in the WCC with .348 hitting percentage … recorded 227 kills and 67 errors in 460 total attempts led to team-high .348 hitting percentage … placed in the top-four in four major categories for the Dons including third in kills (227), set assists (35), and total blocks (49), and fourth in points (261) … 2.46 points per set ranked fourth on the squad… registered 10-or-more kills in 10 different matches … scored 10-or-more points in 12 different matches… tallied 16 kills and only two errors (.609 attack percentage) en route to a tremendous 17.5 point effort against Santa Clara on Oct. 22 … recorded 11 kills on .444 attacking in USF’s sweep of No. 16 San Diego on Sept. 22 … posted double-digit kill efforts in five of six games spanning from Oct. 22- Nov. 12 … finished season with 12-kill, .588 hitting percentage effort en route to 3-1 defeat against Loyola Marymount on Nov. 19 … played in 106 out of 108 total sets … one of only three Dons to start in all 29 matches.
2010 Indoor: Led USF in kills with 2.82 per set … played in all 27 matches … paced the Dons in kills in 11 matches… was fifth in the West Coast Conference in kills per set with 3.15 in league play … totaled 11 matches with double-digit kills… finished with eight or more kills in 19 matches… collected eight kills in her first collegiate match at Creighton on Aug. 27 … first double-digit kills match came against Santa Barbara where she totaled 12 on Sept. 3 … turned in 11 kills and a career-high eight digs against Tulsa on Sept. 4 … notched 11 kills against then-No. 10 California… )… smashed 21 kills at Portland on Oct. 9 … finished with 17 kills at Loyola Marymount on Oct. 28 … notched a career-high 26 kills with a .389 hitting percentage against Gonzaga on Nov. 6… finished the season with 10 kills on .364 hitting against Santa Clara on Nov. 19.
Prep/Club Career: Was named Bay Shore Athletic League MVP at Salesian High School… team MVP at Salesian High School… club team Golden Bear Volleyball qualified for nationals.
Personal: Malina Anise Terrell… daughter of Donna Rayon Terrell and Alfred Terrell… born March of 1992… also ran track and played basketball in high school… career goals are to help USF go as far as possible in the postseason and accomplish something new like a West Coast Conference championship… chose USF because she really likes the city, the team and coaching style seemed like a good fit and her family lives close enough that they can still watch her play… interests include swimming, dancing, hanging out with friends, going to the beach, drive-in movies and traveling... major is advertising.
