DAVIS, Calif. – Four Dons on the San Francisco men's tennis team head up the highway to take part in the UC Davis Aggie Invitational, with Woravin Kumthonkittikul advancing into the semifinal of the tournament.

The senior from Bangkok, Thailand, took care of two opponents on Friday, downing foes from Sacramento State and Portland in straight sets to remain alive in the B Bracket. On Saturday, Kumthonkittikul upended the bracket's No. 1 seed, Jose Chamba Gomez from Pacific, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4. Moving into the semis, Kumthonkittikul fell to UC Davis' Eli Whittle, the No. 7 seed in the bracket, 6-1, 6-4.

Jerod Mah, also playing in the B Bracket, recorded a first-round victory against Pacific senior Lance Ngo before retiring due to injury in the second round to Dominic Barretto of Cal. Playing in the A Bracket, top-seeded Mert Zincirli rallied to advance to the second round after defeating Kasparas Zemaitelis 3-6, 6-0, 6-2. He was upended in the round of 32 by Nevada's Julien Evrard to shake up top of the bracket.

In doubles play, the third-seeded duo of Paul Giraud and Zincirli fell in a tiebreak against Chamba Gomez and Alex Giannini, 8-7(7) in the A Bracket. The pairing of Kumthonkittikul and Mah also dropped their first round matchup with the No. 4 seed in the B Bracket, Sacramento State's Donald Hall and Dom Miller, 8-6.

Next, the Dons travel down the coast to compete at the UCSB Classic Oct. 7-9.
