USF TRAVELS NORTH: San Francisco continues a season-long five-game road trip when it travels to north to compete in the 2011 Carrs Safeway Great Alaska Shootout in Anchorage. The Dons carry a four-game winning streak into their opening round contest against Dartmouth (1-2) Wednesday, November 23. Tip-off against the Big Green is set for approximately 9:30 PM (PT) and will be carried live on USFDons.com via Stretch Internet.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE DONS: San Francisco won its fourth consecutive game with a wild 69-63 road victory at Seattle U. Playing in their fifth game in nine days, the Dons won their road opener for the first time since 2008-09. Junior guard

SCOUTING DARTMOUTH: The Big Green opened up the 2011-12 season on the road and dropped a hard-fought 62-56 decision at Rutgers Nov. 11 in New Jersey. After falling to Vermont 65-53 in its home opener, Dartmouth collected its first win of the season with a 66-62 triumph against Bryant in the team's final home game until December 17. Junior guard R.J. Griffin leads the way offensively at 15.3 points per game while freshman forward Gabas Maldunas adds 10.0 points and a team-high 6.7 rebounds off the bench. The Big Green posted a 5-23 overall record last season and an 1-13 Ivy slate. Paul Cormier is in year two of his second stint at the helm in Hanover and owns a 93-120 ledger in his ninth year and is 179-231 in his 16th season as head coach.

 GREAT ALASKA SHOOTOUT ON TELEVISION: The University of Alaska Anchorage athletic department has announced the television schedule for the 34th annual Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout basketball tournament, set for Nov. 23-26 at Sullivan Arena. Eight Shootout men's games will be produced by KCFT FamilyNet and distributed to multiple statewide, national and regional cable outlets. Outside Alaska, games will be shown live on five national outlets – Fox College Sports, YES Network, NESN, DIRECTV Sports Pak, and Dish Network Multi-Sports Pak.
For the men's tournament, KCFT will show eight games – the four first-round games, both semifinals, and the third-place and championship games – live throughout Alaska (excluding Anchorage at the Mat-Su valleys) on GCI Ch. 1.
