(San Francisco) - Taylor Proctor has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the University of San Francisco women's basketball program, as announced by head coach Jennifer Azzi Wednesday. Proctor, a 6-0 forward, joins the Dons' program from Sand Creek High School in Colorado Springs, Colo.
"I am thrilled to sign Taylor at USF," said Azzi. "From the moment I saw her play, I knew she would be a perfect fit for what we are building at USF. She is talented, has an incredible work ethic and her versatility is a huge asset for us. It is an honor to have such a high level athlete join us at USF."
A multi-sport athlete, Proctor was a member of the USA Senior Women's National Team for USA Team Handball, competing in the qualification games for the Pan American Games. In 2008, she was named to the Junior National Team.
Proctor has compiled an impressive career at Sand Creek High, setting multiple records in her three-year career. She holds the school marks for points in a season (369) and blocks with 61. Both records were set her junior season. She is just 145 points shy of becoming the first basketball player in school history to reach 1,000 points.
The three-time All-Conference first-team honoree averaged 16.6 points and 8.6 rebounds as a junior, earning her honorable mention All-State 4A honors, as selected by the Denver Post.
