USF HOSTS WAVES IN SATURDAY MATINEE: San Francisco welcomes Pepperdine to the Hilltop for a Saturday matinee. Tip-off against the Waves is set for 1:30 PM in a game televised live on Comcast SportsNet California. The Dons look to bounce back after falling 77-61 in Malibu for the West Coast Conference opener for both teams.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE DONS: San Francisco broke through for its first West Coast Conference win in emphatic fashion with a 104-70 pasting of Portland Thursday night. Rashad Green led five Dons in double-digit scoring with 19 points.

MOVING ON UP: Senior forward Angelo Caloiaro enters Saturday's game vs. Pepperdine ranked No. 27 on the USF career scoring list with 1,065 points (9.4 ppg). Next up is All-American and NBA Don James Hardy (195-78) with 1,075 (13.4 ppg).

DONS BULLETS
- At 10-4, USF posted its best non-conference record since opening 1999-00 with a 12-1 start
- Since opening the 2010-11 season with a 4-9 record, San Francisco owns a 26-14 mark
- Dating to the start of West Coast Conference play last season, the Dons own an 11-3 record in games decided by three points or less or in overtime
- USF dropped to 10-2 in overtime games under head coach Rex Walters with a 77-76 OT home loss to Loyola Marymount (12/31/11)
- San Francisco is 21-6 at War Memorial Gym since the start of the 2010-11 season
- The Dons scored a season-high 54 points in the second half at Holy Cross (12/22/11) and forced a season-high 28 turnovers
- USF owns a 606-392 advantage in paint scoring through 19 games
- The Dons lead the league in steals (8.7) (three players rank in the top-10) and turnover margin (+2.2)
- USF also ranks in the top-four in the WCC in scoring (73.9/4th), scoring margin (+4.7) & field goal percentage (.460/3rd)
- San Francisco opponents are converting at a remarkable .786 rate from the free throw line, which is the tops nationally

SCOUTING PEPPERDINE: The Waves conclude the third week of West Coast Conference play with a 7-9 record and after beating USF 77-61 in the league opener in Malibu, have lost four straight, including a 68-58 loss to PCH rival Loyola Marymount on Thursday. Senior forward Taylor Darby leads the way for the Waves offensively, averaging 11.8 points and 6.3 rebounds, while senior center Corbin Moore adds 9.8 points and a team-high 8.5 rebounds. Longtime Waves assistant coach Marty Wilson is in his first season as head coach at his alma mater after serving under mentor Tom Asbury as associate head coach for the last three years. Pepperdine posted a 12-21 record in 2010-11 and went 5-9 during WCC play.

DONS AND WAVES
- USF squares off against Pepperdine for the 119th time in the all-time series dating to 1955-56. The Dons lead 68-50.
- The Dons have won 10 of 15 meetings dating back to 2006 and own a 13-12 record against Pepperdine since 2000.
- USF is 31-19 all-time vs. the Waves at War Memorial Gym and is 37-19 in games played in San Francisco.
- USF took its first WCC Tournament win vs. Pepperdine last year in a 76-59 win (3/5/11). The Dons were 0-6 previously. 
- USF upset Pepperdine in a come-from-behind 85-82 at Firestone Fieldhouse (2/2/08) giving interim head coach Eddie Sutton career victory No. 800.
- San Francisco posted an 11-game winning streak in the series from 1963-67

CALOIARO JOINS ELITE GROUP: Senior forward Angelo Caloiaro joined an elite group when he surpassed 1,000 career points on New Year's Eve against Loyola Marymount in the 2011-12 West Coast Conference home opener. Caloiaro scored a game-high 26 points and became the 31st player in program history to score more than 1,000 points for the Green and Gold, finishing the night with 1,005.
