Just the Facts, Ma'am –
  • USF is riding a two-game winning streak after dispatching UC Davis 72-65 on Wednesday night as War Memorial Gym in San Francisco.
  • The first 2-0 start for the Dons is the first since the 1998-99 season when USF took care of San Diego State and Idaho State to kick off the year.
  • This marks the third consecutive Big West opponent on the Dons' docket. USF also squares off against Cal State Northridge (Dec. 5), Cal Poly (Dec 18) and Pacific (Dec. 29), to bring the WCC and Big West head-to-head for six games on the USF non-conference schedule.
  • There will be a live stream available on BigWest.tv here, or go to usfdons.com to listen to USF broadcaster George Devine on the call from Titan Gym.

Quoteable –

  • “I think there's just a whole different mindset here and they really have bought into not only our way of doing things, but also to each other. I feel like they are really becoming a team and getting confidence from that.” – coach Jennifer Azzi on the 2-0 season start

Know the Foe –

  • The Titans are coming off a 94-75 victory over Sacramento State that included a career-high 18 points from Chante Miles.
  • Alex Thomas also posted career numbers, as she went for 17 points for Cal State Fullerton. There were five double-digit scorers that contributed to the nearly 100-point offensive outburst.
  • Miles and Tailer Butler lead the team in scoring, posting an average of 14.5 points per night through two games.
  • Cal State Fullerton returns two starters and seven letterwinners overall from last season's squad that finished 11-19 overall and 4-12 in the Big West Conference, good enough for eighth place.
  • Cal State Fullerton was picked to finish 10th in Big West action in the preseason media poll, with Cal State Northridge tabbed to win the conference.

USF and Cal State Fullerton – The Series

  • San Francisco leads the overall series with a 9-4 mark, but the Titans have the slight home advantage against the Dons, with a 4-3 home record against USF.
  • Cal State Fullerton has won the last two meetings in the series, with the most recent tangle coming on Dec. 20, 2011, at San Francisco where Fullerton came away with the 55-50 win. USF staged a furious comeback to tie the game at 45-all before Fullerton pulled away in the closing moments for the victory.

UC Davis Remix –

  • USF was led by freshman Taylor Proctor's 18 points, five rebounds, five steals, four blocks and four assists. Her points, steals, blocks and assists numbers all rank as new career highs after two collegiate games.
  • The Dons benefitted from three double-digit scoring efforts by Proctor, Mel Khlok (15) and Zhané Dikes (12). USF shot 43.8 percent from the floor, but only managed to drain half of its free throw attempts in the game (10-of-20).
  • UC Davis' Sydnee Phipps led all scorers with 26 points, accounting for nearly half of the Aggies' offense. No other UC Davis players scored more than seven points as the USF defense held the Aggies to 38.3 percent shooting and forced 23 turnovers.
