SAN FRANCISCO – Propelled by a hot hand and stout defense, the San Francisco women's basketball team outplayed Missouri Southern to a 72-40 result in exhibition play at War Memorial Gym on Friday.
The Dons were led by senior
Mel Khlok's 16-point outing on 50 percent shooting from the floor coupled with a game-high four steals. A pair of sophomores joined in on the offensive outburst including

After a slow start in the contest, the Dons turned on the juice to get to a double-digit advantage when Khlok slid in a jumper to set the score at 18-7 midway through the first. It was smooth sailing from there as USF maintained a 33-18 halftime advantage over the visiting Lions.
The second period started with a layup from
Whitney Daniels, a senior forward from Manhattan Beach, Calif. USF continued to grow the lead as the game progressed and pulled away with the 72-40 victory.
