Dons Settle for 1-1 Tie at Saint Mary's

Box Score MORAGA, Calif. -- USF and Saint Mary's played to a 1-1 draw Sunday afternoon in Moraga, with Miguel Aguilar accounting for the Dons lone goal at the 57 minute mark of the second half.

The tie leaves USF's record at 5-7-4 overall and 3-5-2 in the WCC while Saint Mary's goes to 9-3-5 and 5-2-3 in conference play.

After a scoreless first half, Aguilar put the Dons on the board with a goal in the 57th minute off assists from Jorge Martinez and Danny Kirkland.

Saint Mary's came back with the equalizer in the 80th minute, when Jose Cabeza's free kick into the box found Trevor Newquist, who headed it past keeper Brendan Roslund.

The teams settle for a tie after two scoreless overtime periods.

USF will return to action on Friday night when they play host to the Gonzaga Bulldogs at Negoesco Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Dons will close out its schedule Sunday afternoon against the Portland Pilots.
