Jocelyn Levig registered a 21-kill, 17-dig double-double to lead San Francisco to an emphatic 3-1 (25-16, 21-25, 25-22, 25-21) victory over UC Davis on Tuesday night. Four Dons set season high totals in USF's fourth straight win.
De Vries, a freshman outside hitter, experienced a career night, registering a personal and season high kill total for the Dons (8-3). De Vries narrowly missed out on a double-double, tallying nine digs to go along with an impressive .412 attack percentage.
Levig, who won WCC Player of the Week honors last week, recorded her third double-double of the season, tying her season-high kill total of 21, and setting a season high total with 17 digs. The Sumner, Washington native leads USF with 148 kills (3.89 k/s) on the year.
The Aggies (4-6) were unable to get anything past redshirt-sophomore Rebecca Kopilovtich, who led the Dons defensive efforts with a season-high 26 digs. Kopilovitch has now posted double-digit dig totals in nine-of-11 matches to begin the 2012 season.
Senior setter
Leanna Ludes directed the offensive attack, dishing out a season high 54 assists. Ludes' 54 assists were one more than her previous high of 53, which she set in the opening match of the year against Eastern Washington.
The Dons hit .448 in the first set winning by nine points, their largest margin of victory in any set on Tuesday night. USF finished strong with a .341 attack percentage in the fourth and deciding set.
Devon Damelio paced the Aggies with a 20-kill, 14-dig double-double, while Jenny Woolway added 36 assits.
San Francisco will head to Stanford, Calif. to face the Cardinal on Friday night, before hosting UC Berkeley at home on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
The Dons posted their first victory in school history against the Golden Bears in the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Invitiational on September 1.
