Volleyball Falls Short Against No. 7 Stanford

Box Score STANFORD, Calif. - After winning four straight matches, the San Francisco Dons fell to No. 7 Stanford 3-0 (18-25, 12-25, 16-25) on Friday night at Maples Pavilion.

Freshman outside hitter Ester de Vries continued to lead the way for the Dons (8-4) with 14 kills and a team high .333 attack percentage. Jocelyn Levig added eight kills, while Leanna Ludes dished out 24 assists. Defensive specialist Rebecca Kopilovitch recorded a team high 13 digs.

The Dons hit .200 in the first set, but just .040 in the second set and .054 in the third.

Stanford hit .409 on the night, including a .500 attack percentage in the second set. Carly Wopat led the way for the Cardinal with 11 kills.

The Dons return home to War Memorial Gym for a crucial matchup against the California Golden Bears tomorrow at 6:30 p.m.
