Volleyball Wraps Up Hawaiian Airlines Classic With 3-1 Loss to Baylor

Box Score HONOLULU, O'ahu - Jocelyn Levig posted a match-high 16 kills, but San Francisco fell to Baylor 3-1 (14-25, 25-22, 22-25, 19-25) on Sunday on the final day in the Hawaiian Airlines Classic in Honolulu.

The Dons (4-3) won the second set 25-22 and narrowly lost the third set 22-25, before dropping the fourth and deciding set 19-25 to finish the weekend with a 1-2 record.

Levig continued her stellar senior campaign recording 16 kills for the second consecutive game to increase her team-leading total to 92 on the season. One day after posting her second double-double of the season (16 kills, 11 digs), the Sumner, Washington native followed it up with a 16-kill, 6-dig effort.

Sophomore middle blocker Valentina Zaloznik added 10 kills of her own and has now recorded double-digit kill totals in four of the Dons' first seven matches.

Senior setter Leanna Ludes led the Dons with a .429 attack percentage and dished out 33 assists. So far this season, Ludes has 231 assists for an average of 9.24 per set. The Vancouver, Washington native has posted at least 21 assists in all seven matches thus far and has accounted for 82 percent of all Dons' assists this year.

San Francisco returns to action on Friday, September 7 in its first home game of the season, hosting Long Island at 6:30 p.m. in the Asics Coca Cola Challenge.

The two-day tournament also includes La Salle and Cal State Northridge, with USF playing one game on Friday and two on Saturday, September 8.
