SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The San Francisco women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw on Friday night against Northern Arizona University of the Big Sky Conference.
The Dons scored first in the 17th minute with yet another goal on the year from sophomore
Mackenzie Krieser off an assist from junior
Christina Moberg.
But the lead didn't last for long as the Lumberjacks countered just 21 seconds later with a goal of their own from Haley Wingender.
USF outshot NAU on the night, 15-13, with a commanding 13-7 edge in regulation. The Dons were then outshot 6-2 in extra time, but thanks to freshman goalkeeper
Madalyn Schiffel and her two extra-time saves, they were able to hold on for the draw, the team's third in the matter of just seven games this season.
Christina Moberg had a game-high three shots on goal to go with her second assist of the season for the Dons, who are still undefeated at Negoesco Stadium in 2012 with a 2-0-2 home record and a 2-2-3 record overall.
San Francisco returns to the pitch at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon to take on the Nevada Wolfpack.
