GAME NOTES

SAN FRANCISCO—The Dons were finally able to pick themselves off the deck with their dramatic win over Santa Clara last Friday. Now they face two more teams this week who also have aspirations of claiming a West Coast Conference championship in San Diego and Loyola Marymount.

The win over the Broncos also got San Francisco back into the WCC race after earning only one point in three matches at home. The Dons currently sit in fifth place in the WCC but are only five points behind first-place Gonzaga.

STREAK BREAKER
The Dons' win against Santa Clara last Friday broke a six-match winless streak in which they went 0-4-2. The win over Santa Clara also marked the team's first win away from home and had entered that night with a 0-2-1 record on the road. It was also the first of four straight road games.

The goal by Brady Jimison was his second of his career and first of the season. The other came last season against Saint Mary's and was also a game-winner.

DEFENSE IS BACK
San Francisco has two shutouts in its last three games. They are the first shutouts for the Dons since opening weekend against LIU Brooklyn and Air Force.

Connor Gaal got his first career start in West Coast Conference play and turned in his second shutout of the season. The redshirt freshman has allowed two goals in four games and holds a 3-1-0 record. Gaal holds a save percentage of .895. If he qualified for the stat, he would be ranked third in the nation.

FINAL HOMECOMING
San Diego native Mauricio Diaz De Leon will be playing his final game at Torero Stadium. He has not scored in his previous three trips. He currently has one goal and one assist on the season.

ABOUT SAN DIEGO (3-5-3, 0-2-2)
San Diego has had a rough go of it early in conference play but do not let the record fool you. The defending WCC champions might be ready to break out of their funk. Connor Brandt leads the team with three goals and has two of them in WCC play to go along with two assists.

ABOUT LOYOLA MARYMOUNT (6-3-2, 2-1-1)
LMU has gotten off to a hot start in league play and go into the weekend tied in first place with seven points. Adrien Perez and Juan De Rada each have four goals and 13 points on the season.  De Rada has put those numbers up in 631 minutes, seventh on the team.

FOURTH IN THE POLL
The Dons were selected to finish fourth in the preseason WCC poll and received one first place vote. Five teams received first place votes and no team got more than two.
