Day 1 Recap
STOCKTON, Calif. – The San Francisco men's team completed the fall tournament slate at the Pacific Tiger Invitational.
Johan Samuelsson, a junior from Malmo, Sweden, closed off the fall campaign by winning the "C" Consolation bracket. He defeated Sonoma State's Vince Paganetti, 6-0, 6-4, to advance to the bracket finals. Samuelsson's final opponent, James Markiewicz of Saint Mary's, withdrew from the match.
Samuelsson also found success in the doubles portion of the competition. Playing with partner
Thomas Takemoto, the pair from USF defeated Jonah Tahilan and Brook Workeneh, 8-4, in the consolation semifinals.
The Dons play an exhibition at San Quentin next weekend to round out the fall competition. The spring schedule begins with the Alumni Battle on Jan. 18, and dual match action commences on Jan. 21 as USF faces off with Bay Area foe California in Berkeley.
